Returns & Exchanges

We want you to feel confident in every piece from Unity Activewear. If something doesn't fit quite right or you've changed your mind, we've made exchanges simple.

 

Our 30-Day Change of Mind Policy

This is our voluntary returns policy for when you simply change your mind, want a different size, or prefer another colour.

 

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request an exchange or store credit for any reason.

 

What You Can Exchange:
  • Any unworn, unwashed item with original tags attached
  • Items in original packaging (for accessories like resistance bands, towels, and scrunchies)
How It Works:
For Size or Colour Exchanges
  1. Email us at support@unityactivewear.comwith your order number and what you'd like to exchange
  2. We'll send return instructions and confirm availability
  3. Ship your item back to us (you cover return shipping)
  4. Once we inspect it (48-72 hours), we'll ship your new item within 1-2 business days
For Store Credit
  1. Email us at support@unityactivewear.com with your order number
  2. Return your unworn, unwashed item with tags attached (we will cover return shipping)
  3. We'll issue store credit within 48-72 hours of receiving your return
  4. Store credit never expires
Expected Timeline: Most exchanges are completed within 10-14 business days of your contact with us.

 

If Your Size or Colour Is Out of Stock

Option 1: Wait for Restock – We'll hold your exchange and notify you when it's back (usually 2-4 weeks)
Option 2: Choose Something Different – Pick any item of equal or greater value. Pay the difference or get the balance as store credit.
Option 3: Store Credit – Get credit immediately to use whenever you're ready
Email us at support@unityactivewear.com to check stock levels before returning anything.

 

Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

This section covers your legal rights that exist beyond our voluntary 30-day policy.

 

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), all Unity Activewear products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You're entitled to a remedy if goods are faulty, not fit for purpose, or don't match their description.

What the Consumer Guarantees Cover

Your Unity pieces must:
  • Be of acceptable quality (free from defects, safe, and durable)
  • Match the description on our website
  • Be fit for any purpose we've told you they're designed for
  • Last for a reasonable time based on what you paid and the type of product
Important: These rights apply even if you've worn the item, removed tags, or no longer have the original packaging. You just need proof of purchase.

Major Failures vs Minor Problems

Major Failure (You choose: refund OR replacement)

A major failure occurs when:
  • The product has a serious defect or safety issue
  • It's significantly different from what we described
  • It doesn't do what activewear should do and can't be easily fixed
  • You wouldn't have bought it if you'd known about the problem
For major failures, you choose whether you want a full refund (to your original payment method) or a replacement item. We will organise a shipping label to return the faulty product.

Minor Problem (We'll fix it)
Minor problems are smaller defects that don't stop the product working as activewear. For minor problems, we'll repair or replace the item within a reasonable time.

Examples of minor problems:
  • Loose threads that can be easily trimmed
  • A single missing stitch that doesn't affect functionality
  • Minor colour variation from photos (within normal range)
  • Small cosmetic imperfections that don't affect wear
  • A slightly crooked label or tag placement
If we can't fix a minor problem quickly or properly, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement instead.

How Long Do These Rights Last?

Your ACL rights don't expire after 30 days. The timeframe depends on:
  • The type of product (performance activewear vs accessories)
  • What you paid (premium items are expected to last longer)
  • How the product is normally used
For example, premium leggings should reasonably last many months of regular gym use with proper care. Basic accessories like scrunchies have different durability expectations.

 

These rights apply whether you bought the item at full price or on sale.

 

How to Claim Under Consumer Guarantees

If you believe your Unity Activewear item has a problem covered by consumer guarantees:
  1. Email us at support@unityactivewear.com with:
    • Your order number and proof of purchase
    • Clear photos of the problem
    • Description of the issue and when you first noticed it
    • How you've used and cared for the item
  2. We'll assess your claim within 24-48 hours
  3. If covered, you choose your remedy for major failures:
    • Full refund to your original payment method, OR
    • Replacement with the same item (we'll ship within 1-2 business days)
  4. For minor problems, we'll offer:
    • Free repair, replacement, or refund (our choice)
    • We'll fix it within a reasonable time
We cover return shipping costs for items with defects or failures covered by consumer guarantees.

What's Covered

Manufacturing defects including:
  • Seams that fail during normal use
  • Fabric that tears, pills excessively, or deteriorates beyond normal wear
  • Faulty zippers, clasps, or other components
  • Significant colour fading after following care instructions
  • Items that don't perform as activewear should (not breathable, not stretchy, etc.)
  • Items damaged in transit
  • Items significantly different from our description
These defects are covered even if they only become apparent after you've worn or washed the item – as long as you've followed our care instructions and used the item normally.

What's Not Covered

Your ACL rights don't apply if:
  • You changed your mind, found it cheaper elsewhere, or don't need it anymore (but our 30-day voluntary policy might help)
  • You damaged the item through misuse or not following care instructions
  • We told you about the specific fault before you bought it
  • The problem is from normal wear and tear appropriate to the age and use of the item

Wrong Item Shipped

If we sent you the wrong size, colour, or item, we'll fix it immediately at no cost to you.
  1. Email us at support@unityactivewear.com with your order number and a photo
  2. We'll send a prepaid return label (we cover all shipping)
  3. Once we receive the incorrect item, we'll ship the right one within 1-2 business days
  4. We'll include store credit as an apology for the inconvenience

 

Sale & Promotional Items

Your ACL rights apply equally to sale items and full-price items.
Items purchased during sales or with discount codes have the same consumer guarantee rights. If there's a problem covered by ACL, you're entitled to the same remedies.

 

For our voluntary 30-day change-of-mind policy:
  • Regular sale items can be exchanged if unworn/unwashed with tags attached
  • Final sale items (clearly marked at checkout) are only eligible for exchange or refund if they have a problem covered by consumer guarantees
Store credit for change-of-mind returns reflects what you actually paid, not the original price.

 

What We Can't Accept (Change of Mind Returns Only)

Under our voluntary 30-day change-of-mind policy, we cannot accept:
  • Items that have been worn or used
  • Items that have been washed
  • Items with tags removed or damaged
  • Items with visible signs of use (makeup marks, deodorant marks, pet hair, odors, etc.)
  • Items returned after 30 days
These restrictions only apply to voluntary change-of-mind returns. If your item has a problem covered by ACL, different rules apply – contact us.

 

If Your Return Doesn't Meet Change-of-Mind Criteria

We inspect every return within 48-72 hours. If a change-of-mind return shows signs of wear, has been washed, or has missing/damaged tags, we cannot process it as a voluntary return.

Here's what happens:
  1. We'll email you with photos explaining the issue
  2. You choose:
    • We'll return the item to you at no charge, OR
    • We can responsibly dispose of it with your permission
  3. We'll wait for your response before taking action
If you believe the item has a defect or quality issue, let us know so we can assess it under consumer guarantees instead.
